What: The Annual Cyber Security and Information Infrastructure Research Workshop (CSIIRW-07) is designed for security professionals interested in the latest, comprehensive security strategies. The workshop's goal is to challenge, establish and
debate a far-reaching discussion that broadly and comprehensively outlines a strategy for cyber security that is founded on sound technologies that meet the challenge of cyber security.
Who: Dr. Greg Shannon, Chief Scientist, CounterStorm, Inc. Greg will be delivering a presentation titled "Broadly Deploying Statistical Anomaly Detection to Improve Cyber Security: Strategy, Benefits, and Results." Greg will talk about the use of anomaly- based threat detection to recognize new conditions on the network that may be indications of previously unknown attack mechanisms. In this presentation, Greg will discuss the advantages and challenges of anomaly detection for protection of critical information systems.
